Our clinic is located at 2 Carlton Street, Suite 720 in downtown Toronto, steps from College Subway Station. This service is part of our Toronto acupuncture services.

Individualized Care
Reasons Clients Seek Acupuncture

Everyone experiences stress differently. Treatment is individualized according to your health history, current concerns, assessment, preferences and goals.

01
Stress & Difficulty Relaxing
Clients experiencing ongoing stress or difficulty unwinding may choose acupuncture as part of their self-care and overall wellness routine.

02
Anxiety-Related Concerns
Some clients seek acupuncture as a complementary approach when experiencing anxiety-related symptoms or periods of increased emotional stress. Acupuncture is not a replacement for appropriate mental-health or medical care.

03
Stress-Related Tension
Stress may be accompanied by muscle tension, jaw tightness, neck and shoulder discomfort or tension-related headaches. Treatment can be adapted according to your individual presentation.

04
Stress & Sleep
Stress and difficulty relaxing can sometimes occur alongside sleep concerns. Clients whose primary concern is sleep can learn more on our dedicated insomnia acupuncture page.

05
Work-Related Stress & Fatigue
Busy schedules, prolonged periods of stress and insufficient recovery can contribute to fatigue and feeling overwhelmed. Acupuncture may be incorporated into an individualized wellness plan when appropriate.

06
Relaxation & General Well-Being
You do not need to have a specific diagnosis to discuss acupuncture. Some clients include acupuncture in their broader approach to relaxation, self-care and general well-being.

Traditional Chinese Medicine
A Personalized Acupuncture Approach

Traditional Chinese Medicine considers the overall pattern of symptoms rather than focusing on a single complaint in isolation. During your appointment, Charles reviews your health history, current concerns, sleep, stress levels and other relevant factors before selecting an individualized acupuncture approach.

TCM concepts such as Qi and Shen may be used within the traditional framework to guide treatment planning. These concepts are part of Traditional Chinese Medicine theory and should not be interpreted as conventional biomedical diagnoses.

Common Questions
Stress & Anxiety Acupuncture FAQ
Can acupuncture be used for stress and anxiety-related concerns?
Some clients choose acupuncture as a complementary approach for stress, difficulty relaxing and anxiety-related concerns. Whether acupuncture is appropriate depends on your individual health history, symptoms and treatment goals.
Is acupuncture a replacement for mental-health treatment?
No. Acupuncture may be used as a complementary form of care but is not a replacement for appropriate medical, psychological or mental-health treatment.
Can I receive acupuncture while taking medication?
Your current medications and relevant health history should be discussed during your intake. Do not stop or change prescribed medication based on acupuncture treatment; medication decisions should be discussed with the prescribing healthcare professional.
How many acupuncture sessions will I need?
There is no fixed number of sessions that applies to everyone. Treatment frequency depends on your concerns, health history, goals and response to care and can be discussed after your assessment.
What if sleep is my main concern?
If difficulty sleeping is your primary concern, visit our dedicated acupuncture for insomnia page for more information.
Is acupuncture covered by insurance?
Charles Guo is a CTCMPAO-registered Acupuncturist and official R.Ac receipts are provided for eligible acupuncture services. Coverage limits and reimbursement depend on your individual extended-health plan.
